Morgan Samuel Price
Well-known plein-air artist,
Morgan Samuel Price truly loves to paint and she is in her element when
painting outdoors.
She seeks to convey that passion to the viewer, imparting the purity of spring,
the sultry lushness of summer,
the crisp brilliance of fall and the chilly solitudes of winter.
Born in Cleveland, Ohio and
growing up in New Smyrna Beach, Florida. Morgan was instilled form an early
age
with a profound respect for nature. Her career was, and still is nurtured and
fully encouraged by her inspirational mother.
As a child, Sunday drives through the countryside introduced Morgan to nature.
Her fervor for art was further fueled by
frequent outings to the Cleveland Art Museum.
After graduating from the
prestigious Ringling School of Art in Sarasota, Florida, Morgan began her
professional
art career at Hallmark Cards in Kansas City, Missouri. This was followed by work
as Creative Director in a publishing
firm and then an independent endeavor in architectural rendering.

turning point and successfully began her career as a fine artist. By 1979 Morgan
was
conducting workshops around the country and exhibiting in national competitive
exhibitions in New York City. She
has studied with such prominent artists as Loren Wilford and Robert Carl Cogar.

Statement
There are guiding principles in the study of painting that have served me well
throughout my career.
These principles are imbedded within my philosophy. They keep me grounded and
aware of what is
important to me as an artist. Nature, a library of images generates
it’s own excitement. Capturing
its
many moods is the challenge. I am an observer of life in nature. My child like
fascination has never left me.
Luckily
for me my many trips to the Cleveland Art Museum introduced me early on to the
best of the best.
Looking at superlative paintings introduced a level of excellence.
Art
is a reflection of life, my life.
