MARY TALMADGE HARDMAN

The act of simply painting a garden a a child sparked a lifelong passion turned career. 
After graduating as one of the first women to receive a landscape architecture degree 
at The University of Georgia, I practiced landscape architecture while attending the 
Atlanta College of Art. Studying art abroad and in Africa, my paintings of African 
children led to national awards. Today, plein air painting is a precious opportunity to 
record the beauty of nature. It combines the love of art and love of the natural world.
Spending countless hours exploring from New Zealand to China to Scandinavisa, 
I have painted the outdoor landscape and human emotion on canvas to share with 
others leaving something or worth behind.

EDUCATION
Bachelor of Science, Landscape Architecture with a minor in painting, 
University of Georgia Atlanta College of Art
Studies abroad; University of Georgia, Cortona Italy, oil painting, watercolor, photography.

Numerous professional oil painting workshops including 
Robert Johnson, Kim English, Gregg Kreutz, Roseta Santiago, 
Bart Lindstrom, David Leffel, George Strickland and Gay Faukenberry,
