Armand Cabrera won the Best Architectural Award at
the Easton Plein Air Competition in Easton, Maryland, the Best
of Show Award at the Havre de Grace, Maryland, Plein Air
Competition. Also,
Cabrera won "Best of Show" at the Riverbend Park Plein
Air Event.

Gavin
Brooks
participated
in the Plein Air Paint-out Competition in Easton, Maryland, in
July with fellow PAP-SE members Dee Beard Dean, Larry Moore,
Roger Dale Brown and Brett Weaver. Each juried artist entered
two paintings.
Brooks’ paintings received two awards: Best
Pastoral Painting for a 16 x 20 Sails
on a Summer Haze oil painting, and an Honorable Mention for
her 20 x 30 Jamaica Point
Pines oil painting.
The Academy
Art Museum recently purchased two of Brooks’s works for
its permanent paintings collection. She is scheduled to present
a Solo Exhibition in Orleans, Massachusetts on Sept 2, 2006 at Addison
Art Gallery.
Dee
Beard Dean
received the First Place Quick Draw Award for the Plein Air
Paint-out in Easton, Maryland, with 52 nationally known artists
participating. The South
Street Art Gallery in Historic Easton now represents
Dean’s works. Dean was
one of the featured artists in the January 2006 issue of American
Art Collector magazine.
July 2006
Karen Hewitt Hagan was featured in Collectable Marine Artists
in the July 2006
issue of American Art
Collector magazine. She was also profiled in the August 2006
issue of American
Art Collector magazine for her One Woman Show at Iredell
Museums in Statesville, North Carolina.
Larry
Moore
received an Honorable Mention Award for a painting he completed
during the Plein Air Paintout in Easton, Maryland. The South
Street Art Gallery in Historic Easton now represents
Moore’s works.
October,
2006
Junko
Ono Rothwell
had a painting accepted by the Southeastern Pastel Society’s
International Exhibition in Georgia and won a Gold Award. This
show opened on August 24 and goes to October 1, 2006.
Rothwell’s oil painting was accepted by the Oil Painters of
America’s Eastern Regional Exhibition in Richmond, VA,
September 15 through October 13, 2006. See more works at her

Dawn
Whitelaw
was one of the artists selected by Fine Art Connoisseur magazine
to be included in a juried online exhibit at the Bennington
Center for the Arts. The show is titled “Artists for the
